Lasting shoppers and bargain hunters can take a fresh look at a gigantic clothing sale.
For Rutland volunteers are busy preparing for the return of their Good and New events.
The wide range of pre-loved items allows shoppers to update their wardrobe without breaking the bank or harming the planet.
All proceeds help fund two non-medical advisers at Citizens Advice Rutland.
Organizer Trish Ruddle said: “The Good and New Sale is a chance for the most fantastic bargains, knowing you’re repurposing pre-loved clothes.
“We’ve had 18 months without fundraising, and the sale typically makes 50% of what we need every year, so we can’t wait to welcome people back.”
Profits from the event have grown every year, with the 2020 sale bringing in £55,000.
Trish added: “There are so many people who are interested in reusing or redesigning clothes, so we hope they will all support us.
“We are always given fantastic qualifying clothes. It’s really phenomenal.”
The organizers are particularly keen to attract more customers to their men’s event.
The men’s sale was introduced as a separate event in 2015 and has seen a steady increase in customers, but Trish is keen to spread the word.
She said: “The first event was an incredible success, but we see the same faces every year. We would like to diversify and attract new people. It’s as much about saving the environment as it is about getting a good deal.
The men’s sale will take place on Friday February 25 from 5pm to 8pm and Saturday February 26 from 9am to noon at 33 Pillings Road, Oakham.
There will be a range of tuxedos, shirts, sportswear, shoes and accessories on sale as well as clothing for teenagers.
A week later, the main sale will take place at the Barnsdale Lodge Hotel.
Opening night tickets cost £20 on 01572 724400. They include champagne and canapes from the Hambleton Hall Hotel. The sale runs from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 4.
The sale continues on Saturday March 5 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Admission is £5 on the door with all remaining items half off.
