The house of the priest of a Hindu temple in the Korangi district of Karachi in Pakistan was attacked by mobs on Wednesday evening.
The violent mob broke into the priest’s house and vandalized it. They even damaged the idol of Shri Mari Mata Mandir which the priest had kept in his house due to the renovation works of the temple.
Pakistani police have so far not arrested anyone in the incident. Meanwhile, a high-level investigation into the incident has been opened.

In addition, a Hindu temple located in the “J” area within the boundaries of the Korangi police station was destroyed by unidentified miscreants, police said. These are believed to be the latest incidents of vandalism against the minority community’s place of worship in Pakistan.
A report by the Express Tribune newspaper said the incident caused panic and fear among the Hindu community residing in Karachi, especially in the Korangi area where police had been deployed to prevent any further untoward incidents.

Sanjeev, a Hindu resident of the area, told the newspaper that six to eight individuals on motorbikes entered the area and attacked the temple. “We don’t know who attacked and why,” he said, adding that police had been approached to file a complaint.
Temples belonging to the minority Hindu population in Pakistan are often the target of mob violence.
